| Ofsted Reports |
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. It inspects Sure Start Children's Centres to ensure that they are improving outcomes for young children and closing the gap between the most disadvantaged children and other children. These outcomes for children are taken from the Government's Every Child Matters guidance. They are: being healthy; staying safe; enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution; and achieving social and economic well-being. Ofsted thoroughly inspect Sure Start Children's Centres with very little notice and then report their findings fairly and truthfully. As part of their inspection they listen to service users, including children, and providers. They make recommendations for any improvements that could be made. Their independence means you can rely on them for impartial information. You can find out what they thought of the Sure Start Children's Centres they have inspected in Newcastle by clicking here.
